I have been pretty lucky in the past with any purchases that I have ordered in the past – until recently.

I ordered a few things that had advertised on Social Media and it honestly did not work out.

I ordered 4 items from 3 different companies between April and May.

So far I have received cheap items that I did not purchase with the tracking number provided by the company.

Company A - Item 1 – I ordered a triple screen portable laptop workstation – and instead received a cheap cloth tiny purse. When I emailed them, they were not very apologetic, instead they offered a discount on my item and told me the item was now sold out, so I would not be able to receive it, even though it was still available on their website. Instead I choose to send it back to the company on my tab because of principle. I do not approve of their business model nor ethics and I felt that if I let them do what they obvious get away with regularly, then I was saying that it was okay to treat customers that way. I was very vocal as a Business Leader that I did not approve nor accept their standards. I think it is important to take a stand and say “it’s not okay to practice business in this manner”.

Company B - Item 2 – I ordered a laptop and received earbuds? Like really… So again, I returned to sender and then found out that the sender was not the right person and I would only get a 50% refund for what I had purchased. Wow these people obviously get away with a lot of things. Unreal. I let both companies know that I would no longer be purchasing items online from unreputable companies – I would stick with Amazon and the big boys that honor their clients, what they ordered and go above and beyond to make your online shopping experience a good one.

Company C – Item 3 & 4 – I ordered a couple of wedding gifts for the weddings I have this summer in April – I have asked for Tracking Numbers and heard from them once that the order was going to be delayed. Since then, I have emailed them on a few different occasions and have heard nothing back… Unbelievable.

How do these people think that this is okay…?

I must say I am floored. I understand that you are taking risks when you buy online but how it can go that sideways is beyond me.

How companies, owners, managers, supervisors, employees, and anyone else involved feel that this is okay is honestly beyond my comprehension.

I guess that is why I return the items and voice my opinion – to hopefully reach someone’s moral compass and hopefully impact them in a better way – but who knows. I can only be me and they can only be them…

If you put a product online and then someone purchases said product – they purchased the product they wanted at the price they chose to pay and deserve to receive their proper product in a timely manner with great customer service. That is my personal and business opinion.

I just thought it was important to share this personal experience.
